Nikolaus has more than fifteen years of extensive experience in atmospheric research and the development of performative and diagrammatic models of visualization and materialization. He is highly skilled at working in and with teams ranging from thematic clusters to long-term interdisciplinary research projects on innovative forms of mapping environments and geological surveying. He specializes in collecting and analyzing samples and data, finding new deposits, using enhanced imagery and data, and gathering geomagnetic, gravity, and other types of geo-information. Currently, Nikolaus is also an advisor to the excellent research cluster on the Re-Figuration of Spaces at the Technical University Berlin, which investigates the emergence of multiple socio-spatial orders caused by globalization and digitalization.
